OpenSim is still undergoing heavy development. OSGrid regions
are hosted on machines around the world on the other end of
residential Internet connections and hosted in commercial data
centers. Unlike homogeneous grids where all of the grid's
infrastructure and regions are managed by the same people, OSGrid's
structure introduces a lot of variables which can impact your ability
to access your inventory, teleport to other regions, cross region
boundaries, and perform other actions.
We'd like to help you narrow down possible causes of any performance
problems you might be having, so we have an outside service testing a
number of the central OSGrid services from dozens of locations around
North America and Europe (we realize we have a number of users on
other continents, but this service only performs tests from these
two). Tests are performed every minute and included in the below
reports. These reports are also providing new info to the grid admins
which should help us identify performance problems.
